how do i open my major safe model number 940e

i have a major safe company, floor safe model 940e, i have a combination but am not sure it has been changed, a lock smith could not open it, any help would be nice thank you.

question for you! is the safe door round !
i used to work for major safe before they were bought out by an overseas company. i was the fabricator of a all the safes from 1982-1986.
